Library dress.

Do you all love the new Oliver + S patterns as much as I do?!  I just didn't know which one to pick to sew first, ha!  I chose the Library Dress as it looked like a more challenging sew, though let me tell you, it was easy!  That is why I love their patterns, so many great details that look so hard or labor intensive, but Liesl always has a clever trick to make it so easy.

I figure, pretty new dress, why not go for a real photo shoot.  And to my surprise Elizabeth was so cooperative today!  Well, aside from showing me the back of the dress, she apparently only wanted me to see the front.

This is a size 2T with all the fun options.  Collar, 3/4 sleeves with that cute notched cuff, piping (thanks flickr friends for your opinions!).  I actually got all these options in less than the 1 1/2 yards suggested for either view.  Score.

I LOVE the notched cuffs.  I was worried about using the print for them though because the details wouldn't show up so I opted for a solid cuff.  I kind of like it .

She was so cute, she kept telling me "pretty dress? pretty dress!".  Glad she likes it as much as I do.

This is a quilting cotton, but it is so incredibly soft and light weight!  I bought it at my local shop and the owner told me it is because it is printed on pima cotton.  He said a lot of quilters were wary of it because of how light it is, but I am so in love!  In fact, I have been back to pick up different prints.

So, to sum things up.  Pretty fabric, pretty baby, pretty pattern, pretty dress.
